Blog One: The Beginning

It all begins with dialogue. Like most conversations, it will bring us closer together with the need to write or the sublime need to read, connecting us all.

I’ll start by saying this is the first website I’ve ever built, and Squarespace made it possible. I am not new to writing, but I am new to trying to get my work seen and read by people (other than my family and good-natured friends).

As a voracious reader and a member of the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Society (one of the oldest book clubs in the US, founded in 1872), I have expanded my reading to include subjects that are far outside my usual safe envelope of books. I can bring this information and book list to you, as well as my experiences as a writer, to our future conversations.

This monthly blog will give you space to share your reading preferences and writing ups and downs for us all to learn from.

So, from my desk to yours, from my easy chair to yours, I look forward to our time together. With my fingers crossed and my heart in my throat, literally, I launch this site today, 11/6/25.
