The Bemus Point-Stow Ferry: A History' by Chris Flanders, available from the author

This book was published during COVID and was written to help save the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry. It started plying the waters of the narrows of Chautauqua Lake in 1811 and has been in continuous service since then. It was, and still is, the center of Chautauqua County and its residents. The Ferry is run by volunteers and needed repair to its 1929 hull or be scrapped. I wrote and donated the book to the Ferry board, and it is now in its fourth printing, all proceeds going to the Ferry’s contingency and maintenance fund. This is a photographic and written history of both early Chautauqua County and the Ferry. The purchase price of $25 is considered a donation to the Ferry.
